Treating Spinal Stenosis Pain Without Drugs

Stenosis Pain Cause

The very nature of spinal stenosis causes pain to the nerve roots being compressed leaving the spinal chord.  Often there is inflammation due to nerve irritation and the success of getting drugs into the target area is minimal at best.   Most pharmaceuticals are directed at deadening the pain message to the brain, not the source.

Today one can directly attack the inflammation and go to the source of the causation of the pain by using interferential therapy.   The Infrex Plus has been used successfully, without drugs, for many patients who can self treat at home.  Treatments last generally no more than 30 minutes daily and is done at home as needed.   Most patients are able to prevent much of the pain of RSD after 2-3 months of daily or weekly use.

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Pain Management

Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Pain

RSD pain is constant, miserable and the addition of narcotics or other pharmacological means rarely stop the pain at it’s source.   Today one does not have to limit the options of dealing with reflex sympathetic dystrophy pain to only drugs.

Electrotherapy, specifically interferential therapy, provides a solution, at home, and without any pain meds.   Interferential therapy  also appears to be preventive  and as treatments are given is possibly training the brain to not allow the pain to start in the first place.

ACL Surgery Recovery In 98 Days – Case History

aclruptureimage

ACL Rupture Surgery Timeline of Recovery

An acl rupture is not only physically difficult but psychologically can be devastating.  Historically this type injury has also ended player’s careers, and in all situations has removed the player from competition for quite a while.  That does not have to be the case and here is a case history of acl rupture, torn medical collateral ligament and a bunch of gook left in the knee capsule but the player was back on the court in 98 days post surgery.

In this particular the patient used the Infrex Plus portable interferential high frequency machine, and at that time, the prototype Infrex FRM machine to achieve the results.   The Infrex FRM is now in production and other athletes can expect similar results when used in conjunction with exercise and icing.    Read here the actual patient and care team that made it happen……

Metal Implants & Tens Machines & Electrotherapy Devices

Tens Machines & Metal Implants

It’s always a concern when using a tens machine or other electrotherapy device as to whether it is safe to use.  Generally speaking there is no concern for a tens machine, but as one uses the more advanced interferential devices then the concern is greater due to the greater penetrating strength of those type pain muscle building machines.

Learn more here about how tens machines and interferential devices can be used when one has a metal implant…….

Choosing The Best Tens Machine For The Value That Will Last

Best Tens Machine Value

So many tens units, so little information.   The bottom line is what will stop pain, last the longest with the least breakdowns, and where can you get supplies and also information on how to use the tens machine.   After pioneering the development of tens technology since 1977 we think we know what tens machine helps the patient the most for the longest time with the least amount of trouble.

Every tens machine must have a separate “width” control for sure, that’s minimum.  We show you here the machine we recommend, as well as a video on exactly how to use the machine, plus plenty of other articles and videos explaining what a tens machine does.   To help you make a selection, whether from us or not, we recommend you educate yourself to make the best choice.   Go here for more information and videos to help you……..

Tens Machine FAQ’s

It unfortunately is so often a patient is given or sent a tens machine without understanding how to use it.   Over the past 36+ years we’ve gathered the most common questions patients have, including where to put the tens machine pads, and tried to help patients understand how to get the most benefit from their tens machine.   We don’t care if the tens unit did not come from us, but we do care you know how to use it and why.

Where To Put Tens Electrodes Videos

Tens Electrode Placements Videos

There is no magic to correct tens machine electrode placements, but common sense approach to where the pain is.   We know pain moves and from that we also know we have to move the tens electrodes to accommodate where the pain is at specific times.

Placement of tens electrodes is not rocket science and these 2 videos explain where to put and why.   Watch them here……….

Do Muscle Stimulators Produce ” 6 Pack Abs”?

6packabs

Muscle Stimulation

Unfortunately there is a big misconception between what a muscle stimulator is and what is a functional electrical stimulator.   Generally speaking many people seek out a muscle stimulator for the purpose of building muscle tissues for appearance or high performance athletically.   Machines that do that are generally referred to as “Russian stimulators” or a functional restoration machine with high frequency stimulation mode available.   The Infrex FRM is such a machine.

Most people who have suffered a stroke, a broken bone, or muscle atrophy really need a “functional electrical stimulator”.   These machines help restore muscle bulk and function so the patient can relearn or regain control of muscles to achieve functions.   Tens machines are not muscle stimulators as many manufacturers like to claim.

We’ve made a video here that explains the differences in the types of machines.  Watch it here…..

How To Make Bones Heal Faster

bonehealingimage

For some type bone crush injuries there are severe problems getting the bones to reunionize.   It could be a crush and the actual bone was fragmented so there is no natural union.  In those extremes the orthopedic physician often prescribes a “bone stimulator” to avoid amputation.  In recent history there is an ever increasing use of electrotherapy devices to assist the body in healing all fractures.   In the case of cervical vertebra breaks it is considered defensive medicine to move the process along quicker so as to avoid new and potentially paralyzing injuries.

Cost of a bone stimulator is a problem however it is felt the process of unionization is more dependent on the polarity ( negative/positive) charges than device specific “bone machines”.  The process of bone healing can possibly be done by a number of less expensive devices with the same results.   Read more here on natural healing and use of electrotherapy devices……
